Kolkata Mein Barissh

BARissh means Rain Water which is most essential need in our life. Just like that we had rain of Food at barissh. Barissh is a newly opened Modern Indian Cuisine Pub cum Restaurant opened on 4th Floor of South City Mall, Kolkata. Theme of Barissh is Modern Jungle. Each and Every thing is just excellent. From wall art to cutlery, I was quite impressed with everything.

They also have 70-80 seating capacity at a time. Special mention for their Beautifully Designed Bar Counter.

Now lets come to the food we had –

SOUP & SALAD :

Tomato Rasam – Garlic Rusk : Rasam is a south Indian Dish traditionally prepared using kokum as a base, with the addition of Tomato it becomes a perfect Start For a meal. They served one piece of garlic rusk with a cup of tomato rasam.

Quinoa & Barkley Salad : If You are on a diet then its a perfect dish for you. Quantity is sufficient for 2.

STARTER :

Avocado Galouti Kebab : I never tasted avocado before but heard a lot about it. They have fusionised Avocado with Galouti Kebab. These Kebabs were so moist and just out of the world.

Beetroot Chop : A perfect less spicy Crunchy beetroot chop they served. Presentation of this dish is so nice.

Lotus stem Magic Masala : Crunchy and Little bit tangy pieces of lotus stem are must try.

Desi Buffalo Chicken Wings : Chicken wings are Cooked with Desi Buffalo Sauce. They cooked it so perfectly.

Something Fishy : Small pieces of Vetki Nuggets are served with a Dips. Its my personal favourite among all.

Coriander Pesto Bhetki : Vetki Fish Tikkas were prepared with Corriander paste. It had a mild flavour. So good.

Lamb Boti Tacos : Its a small size of tacos having a dry kosha Lamb on it. Most Recommended.

MAIN COURSE :

Veg Moilee Khao Suey : Khao Suey is a burmese Noodle Soup which is also known as a coconut milk noodles. I tried the veg variants which have a lots of paneer chunks. I felt this soup was spicy. It tasted good but not the best i tried.

Daal Baati Churma : Its a popular Rajasthani Mani course. Baati are always eaten awith hot dal with pure ghee and chutney. Churma is a popular delicacy usually served with baatis and dal. Presentation wise its so good, taste wise mediocre.

Mushroom Jhal Suji : mushroom pieces were cooked so nicely and its spicyness was so perfect. Its served with suji ka daliya and sauted veggies. Liked this dish.

Bacon & Chorizo Biriyani : Its the best dish of the day. First time tried pork biriyani that too with bacon and chorizo. Flavour of Biriani was so perfect.

Grilled Butter chicken with Quinoa & Cauliflower Pilaf : Butter Chicken was Perfectly grilled and cooked. It goes well with quinoa rice.

DESSERTS :

Shakarkand Churos : Churros sticks were served in a glass filled with Chocolate Brownie Mousse. Combination was so good.

Gulab Jamun Cheese Cake : Presentation was so beautiful. Its a 4 layered Cheesecake having a half Gulabjamun topped in it. Sweet propertion is less and cheese cake was bit of hard.

Tried some Ginfusions – Cucumber & rose, Orange Lemon & Grape Fruit , Dates , Gondhoraj.
Among them i loved most The Gondhoraj.
